Our Story from the Manufacturer

In the year 1999, the barbering trade was believed to be on its last legs. Despite this, our passionate founder, Donnie Hawley of Layrite, continued his quest to perfect his client's haircuts. He faced a challenge with the traditional petroleum-based products his clients used, which were difficult to rinse out and hindered his styling techniques. Donnie refused to compromise on style, yet he was dedicated to maintaining a high standard of barbering.

He worked tirelessly to find a solution, and the result was a water-soluble pomade designed to "Hold Like Wax and Wash Out Like Gel." When one of Donnie's clients remarked that his pomade made his hair lay right, Layrite was born. Since then, Layrite Men's Grooming Products have been leading the way in traditional barbering and men's grooming.
